Grok Bot is in early beta. Access is currently tied to eligible plans, with an Apple silicon macOS download listed on the official page. Confirm your plan in our pricing guide before building a workflow around it.

1. Choose a small, reviewable task

Do not begin with “run my business.” Pick work with a clear finish line: prepare a weekly competitor brief, triage a support queue, or assemble an expense review list.

Write down the output, source systems and actions that require approval. This turns a vague instruction into a controlled assignment.

2. Download and create your first Bot

Use the official download link, sign in with an eligible plan and create a Bot for one role. Give it a functional name such as “Research” or “Support Triage.” One clear job makes context and routines easier to inspect.

3. Sign in to the necessary tools

Grok Bot works inside apps and websites. Sign in only to tools required for the assignment. Use least privilege where your software supports it, and avoid connecting production systems until you understand the Bot's behavior.

4. Delegate the outcome

A useful brief contains:

  • The objective and deadline
  • Approved sources and tools
  • The required output format
  • What the Bot may do without asking
  • Actions that always require approval
  • A definition of done

5. Watch the first run

Review the plan and intervene when the Bot makes an incorrect assumption. The first run is where you discover missing permissions, unclear terminology and risky actions.

6. Teach a routine

The official product page says a Bot can follow while you complete a workflow once, save it as a routine and run it independently next time. Use routines for stable work, then schedule only after a successful supervised run.

7. Add another Bot only when roles are distinct

Multiple Bots are useful when work has clean handoffs. For example, Research can collect evidence, Comms can draft, and a Chief Bot can assemble the review package. More Bots do not fix an unclear workflow.

Do I need coding experience to use Grok Bot?

No. The product is presented as teammate-style delegation. Technical knowledge still helps when connecting sensitive systems or evaluating complex output.

Can Grok Bot use my existing accounts?

Yes. xAI says you can log a Bot into apps and websites. Review the service permissions and your organization's policies first.
