Where to download Grok Bot
Download Grok Bot from the official access flow, not from a random mirror. xAI points Mac users at x.ai/bot. Setup docs send you to the Grok Bot access page to pick the build for your computer.
You still need an eligible plan before the app is useful: SuperGrok Heavy, Cursor Ultra or Cursor Teams Premium, signed in with a Cursor account. See Grok Bot pricing if you are unsure.
Supported platforms
As of August 13, 2026, the official FAQ lists:
| Platform | Status |
|---|---|
| macOS, Apple silicon | Supported |
| macOS, Intel | Supported |
| Windows, x64 | Supported |
| Windows, Arm64 | Supported |
| iPhone, iOS 18 or later | Supported companion app |
| Linux desktop | Not supported at launch |
| Android | Not supported at launch |
| iPad | Not supported at launch |
The same Bots and conversations sync across signed-in devices. Work runs on the cloud computer, so closing the laptop does not stop a background turn.
If you searched grok bot download hoping for Windows: yes, Windows is in the current docs. Launch-day marketing leaned on a macOS button; the FAQ is the better source.
How to download Grok Bot on Mac
- Open the access page.
- Choose the Apple silicon or Intel download.
- Open the disk image and drag Grok Bot to Applications.
- Open the app. If macOS asks for confirmation, choose Open.
To see which Mac you have: Apple menu → About This Mac. A Chip field means Apple silicon. A Processor field means Intel.
The app checks for updates automatically. You can also use Check for Updates in Settings → Beta.
How to download Grok Bot on Windows
- Open the access page.
- Choose the x64 or Arm64 installer.
- Run the installer.
- Open Grok Bot from the Start menu.
Check architecture under Settings → System → About → System type.
iPhone
Install the iOS companion on iPhone running iOS 18 or later. You message the same Bots you created on desktop. Android and iPad are not listed as supported at initial launch.
After you download: sign in
- Choose Get started, or Sign In with Cursor from Settings.
- Finish authentication in the browser window.
- Return to the app when the browser confirms sign-in.
Organizations that require SSO should complete the normal Cursor organization flow.
Grok Bot requires cloud data storage. Accounts on Legacy Privacy Mode must switch to a supported Cursor data setting before a Bot can start.
Free download versus free Grok Bot
The product page includes Get started for free. That is a download and onboarding entry point. It is not a published free usage allowance.
Official get-started docs still list an eligible paid plan as a requirement. If you only wanted grok bot free, read the cost page before you rearrange your workflow around the installer.
Unofficial videos and installers
Google also suggests grok bot video. Watch the official clips on x.ai/bot and the launch post. Do not use a random YouTube “download Grok Bot” video as an installer source. The access page above is the current official path.
If an installer asks for a license key, a cracked Ultra plan, or a browser extension “to unlock Grok Bot,” stop. Sign in with Cursor instead.
Common download problems
| Symptom | Likely cause | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| App opens, then blocks Bot creation | Plan is not Ultra, Teams Premium or SuperGrok Heavy | Check pricing and eligibility |
| Sign-in loop | Browser auth never returned to the app | Restart the app and finish Sign In with Cursor |
| Bot cannot start | Legacy Privacy Mode | Switch Cursor data settings; Grok Bot requires cloud storage |
| Wrong Mac or Windows build | Apple silicon vs Intel, x64 vs Arm64 | Recheck About This Mac or System type, then download again |
Grok Bot checks for updates automatically. You can also use Check for Updates from Settings → Beta.
Do not connect production tools on minute one. Official docs suggest a document-only task first, then one dashboard task that can ask you to sign in.
Full sequence: How to use Grok Bot. Value question: Grok Bot review.
Where is the official Grok Bot download?
Use x.ai/bot or cursor.com/bot/onboarding. Avoid third-party APKs and unofficial “cracked” installers.
Can I download Grok Bot on Windows?
Yes. Current docs support Windows x64 and Arm64.
Is there a Linux Grok Bot download?
Not as a desktop app at initial launch.
Do I need to keep the app open?
No. Bot work runs on the cloud computer. Closing the app or laptop does not stop a background turn or routine.
Why won’t Grok Bot start after download?
The usual blockers are an ineligible plan, a sign-in that never returned to the app, or Legacy Privacy Mode. Check plan eligibility and Cursor privacy settings first.
